Discharge Detective: What Is Your Vagina Telling You? 🔍💧

You check your underwear.
Pause.
Look again.
“Hmm… is that normal?”
Congratulations.
You've officially joined the Discharge Detective Club. 🕵️‍♀️
And here's the first clue:
Vaginal discharge is usually completely normal.
In fact, your discharge can change throughout your menstrual cycle. The amount, texture and appearance aren't necessarily the same every day.
Let's solve the mystery.

🩸 Period: “Case temporarily closed.”

When you're on your period, menstrual blood usually takes centre stage.
You might see light, medium or heavy flow, and sometimes spotting as your period starts or finishes.
Once your period ends, things can get interesting again.

🌱 Follicular: “Something is changing…”

After your period, you may notice little or no discharge.
Then it might become sticky or creamy.
As ovulation gets closer, your cervical mucus may become wetter.
Basically:
Not much → sticky → creamy → wetter
Your pattern may not follow this exact sequence every cycle - and that's completely okay.

🌸 Ovulation: “The famous egg-white moment.”

Then comes the celebrity of cervical mucus:
Egg-white discharge. 🥚
Around ovulation, discharge can become clear, slippery and stretchy, similar to raw egg white.
Why?
Because cervical mucus changes around the fertile window and becomes more friendly to sperm.
Your underwear might basically be saying:
“Fertile window approaching…” 👀
But don't use discharge alone to confirm ovulation or prevent pregnancy.

🌙 Luteal: “Back to business.”

After ovulation, discharge often becomes thicker, stickier, drier or less noticeable.
You may see creamy, sticky or no discharge.
Then eventually…
Period.
And the whole detective series starts again.

🚨 But what if something feels… off?

This is where you should pay attention.
A sudden change in discharge - especially if it's accompanied by strong unpleasant smell, itching, burning or pain - can be a sign that something needs checking.
And unusual colours such as grey or green shouldn't simply be ignored.
Don't panic and don't immediately start Googling “vagina emergency” at 2 AM. 😭
Instead, if the change is unusual for you or comes with symptoms, speak with a healthcare professional.

🔍 Your biggest clue? Your own pattern.

One person's normal can look completely different from another person's.
That's why Clora lets you track:
No discharge • Creamy • Watery • Sticky • Egg white • Spotting • Unusual • Clumpy white • Gray
After a few cycles, you might start thinking:
“Wait… I actually know what my normal looks like.”

Your body gives clues every day.
Clora helps you notice them. 💗
